![]() ![]() We were doing some grading at our mountain land, my son on the dozer cutting down a ridge and me on 8N with box scrape moving the dirt out as fill, working the heck out of the old tractor.Īnyway, 8N starts loosing power, seems to be starving for fuel when running + 1/2 throttle, does OK at low rpm.įirst check petcock and sediment bowl-clean I had a strange (and similar) one on my 8N a while back. Fuel flows out of the valve, the bowl will fill after burping it, and the lines are clear. Honestly, what he has now seems to function when you isolate them from the rest of the system. The owner os going to go get another fuel valve assembly and replace the lines tomorrow. I am wondering if it is a carb issue but would that really reveal itself in the system as the fuel filter no getting sufficient flow?ĭuring all of our screwing around with it we had the cap off of the gas tank. We feel like it is a venting issue but are clueless. ![]() Eventually, it just started draining the filter with very little refilling the filter. #8n fuel line routing to carburetor fullWe likely did not let it run out of the line for a full 20 seconds but at one point after disconnecting it we reconnected it, started the engine, and it flowed really well into the filter - for a while. How long have you let it run? I am betting you are only draining the line - let it fun 20 seconds or more to make sure the gas going in the can/bottle isn't just the gas in the line between the sediment bowl and the carb. The flow is usually good and will fill the filter.ĭisconnect the fuel line from the carb and the fuel flows well. Unscrew the little plug on the side of the fuel valve and fuel starts to flow. Good to know we are on the right track in that respect That's normal - you generally gotta burp the air out of the bowl. ![]() With everything connected you can drain the glass bowl (with the fuel off) and when you turn the fuel on the bowl will not fill.
